Client project
Ur-Eka Lighting & Controls
A responsive WordPress website created to present the organisation clearly, strengthen its service pages and give visitors straightforward routes to further information and enquiries.

Helios Web Design worked with Chris from Marketing 4 Contractors and Stephen Cunliffe from the Ur-Eka Lighting & Controls, to design an updated website for his lighting business. Ur-Eka Lighting & Controls had an existing website but this beginning to look dated and was not performing well in organic search results. Stephen Cunliffe (the Managing Director of Ur-Eka Lighting) wanted a fresh new look to the website as well as significantly improved search engine ranking with effective organic search engine optimisation. Stephen also wanted the website to reflect the businesses national reach.
As Ur-Eka Lighting & Controls are constantly innovating and updating their product lines they wanted to be able to easily modify the website content and to highlight news and developments to potential clients. Helios Web Design integrated an easy to use visual page editor into the website enabling straight forward WYSIWYG editing to take place. It also has a searchable database of lighting & controls products, a blog, social network sharing functionality and effective SEO.
The management team at Ur-Eka were involved throughout the design process and were able to monitor the progress of the website design on a testing domain to ensure it was exactly right before the website was deployed. Google Analytics tracking code was included, enabling Ur-Eka Lighting & Controls to monitor the effectiveness of the website and the ROI of online marketing campaigns. The website has improve the organisations online exposure and has driven more users to the website.
Helios Web Design will actively manage this site ensuring that the website, theme, plugins and security measures are always up to date and will provide technical support and minor updates to content as and when required. The total time of the website build from initial development to live deployment was 6 weeks. The total cost of this website is private at the request of the organisations involved. Ongoing technical support, in year 2 and subsequent years will be available at a market beating rate.

Build approach
Making the website work harder for the organisation
The Ur-Eka Lighting & Controls project was planned as a practical website for a lighting and controls specialist. Its structure is designed to explain product expertise, applications and commercial enquiries without making visitors work through dense or disconnected information.
Why the site is structured around services
Clear individual product and solution pages give each important part of the offer a dedicated destination. This helps prospective customers move from a broad first impression to the detail they need, while giving search engines focused pages that can match more specific searches.
Each service page can support its own message, evidence and call to action. It also creates useful internal routes from the homepage, related services and future advice content, making the website easier to expand without weakening the main navigation.
Designed for clarity and future growth
The WordPress build balances straightforward content management with a responsive layout, consistent visual hierarchy and clear enquiry opportunities. The result is a site that can grow as services, examples and supporting information are added.
Helios approaches projects like this through business website design, with options for PAYG WordPress websites and ongoing WordPress support.
