Working with WAR Communications and Simon Hamlyn from the British Hydropower Association, Helios Web Design has designed an updated website for the BHA. The BHA had a previous website but this was not responsive and was beginning to look a little dated and was not performing optimally for search engine optimisation. Simon Hamlyn (C.E.O. of the BHA) wanted a fresh new look to the website as well as a good search engine ranking with effective organic search engine optimisation. The BHA is an organisation that represents the interests of all those who work in the hydropower industry work nationwide and Simon wanted the optimisation to reflect the businesses national reach. Several people at the BHA have editor privileges and will be able to easily modify the website content to accommodate the organisations evolving needs and to highlight news and developments to their members.
Helios Web Design worked with Chad at WAR Communications and with Simon at the BHA to create a website based on the WordPress CMS platform that has a simple to use visual editor, a searchable database of hydropower companies, a blog, social network sharing functionality and effective SEO.
Simon Hamlyn was involved throughout the design process and was able to monitor the progress of the website design on a testing domain to ensure it was exactly right before the website went live. The website is equipped with a blog and social media sharing has been included to improve the organisations online exposure and drive more users to the website. The WordPress platform will enable Simon and others at the BHA to easily update the content of the website whenever they wish, although Helios Web Design will be happy to implement changes if requested. The website has been optimised for search engines and indexed with Google, and Yahoo/Bing. Google Analytics tracking code has been included, enabling the BHA to monitor the effectiveness of the website and the ROI of online marketing campaigns.
Helios Web Design will actively manage this site ensuring that the website, plugins and security measures are always up to date and will provide technical support and updates to content as and when required. The total time of the website build from initial development to live deployment was four months. The total cost of this website is private at the request of the organisations involved. Ongoing technical support, in year 2 and subsequent years will be available at a market beating rate.
